A Status update on Whatsapp caught my eye today-'watching 'Westworld' on prime video!' it boasted.I wondereded if i was supposed to be impressed that this acquaintance has the brain power to watch the show or that he could afford a prime membership. At the centre of the debate With more and more agencies cracking the whip on sites online,online paid streaming services are gaining traction.Producers,writers,set decorators etc,etc finally get the monetary recognition their work deserves. But... Despite not winning any Emmys,Westworld now holds the distinction of being one of the most pirated shows,second only to game of thrones.In my opinion this has helped spread word about it and enabled more people to soak in its seductive and masterful storytelling.
